Sayonara East Coast

We had a great time in Boston, New York, Philly & DC, but after being in big cities for over a week we had had enough! It was time to get back to camping and being out on the open road. That's why on Wednesday we left Virginia and started heading WEST! It was a great feeling driving away from the traffic, congestion, concrete jungle, and all that is East Coast. Don't get me wrong, it was a great experience... but we also learned that we are "All California." we wanted to get back to fishing, camping, roasting marshmellows, playing catch, doing the things we really love to do. Wednesday we drove and drove until we (Kyle) couldn't drive any more. He took us from Virginia, into West Virginia, over the Appalachian Mountains (which have nothing on the Rockies or the Sierras for that matter), into Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio and eventually landing in one of the same state parks in Indiana that we had stayed at on our way out, Pokagon State Park. We stayed for the night, watching the lightening bugs and enjoying our camp fire, then left the next day enroute for the Giants game in Chicago at Wrigley Field. We weren't sure if we'd make it or even be able to get tickets, but we wanted to try...
I was not overly impressed with the Appalachian Mountains

They were really green, but not very big.
We did however see quite a few fawn and even one porcupine!
