Perkin's Cove

On Thursday before we left Maine for good I wanted to get a piece of sea glass jewelry. There is a small studio above another shop on the pier at Perkin's Cove in Ogunquit, Maine called the Sea Glass Jewelry Studio. They feature jewelry designed and made by several different artists and had some incredible stuff. I decided on a pair of earrings with green sea glass. I am amazed that something as unique as a piece of broken glass found at the bottom of the ocean, smoothed by the sand and waves can find an almost identical counterpart (ie. the other earring). The lady at the shop told me they have a guy who dives for whole glass bottles comes up with sacks full of sea glass and they can find similar sized and shaped pieces.  Perkin's cove is a picturesque marine with lots of restaurants and shops along the pier. The day was gorgeous and clear, so I took a few photos...

I found this cute guy standing around... :)
I think he might be saying, "Are you done yet?"
